About Michael Martin, C.A.S.

I am a Los Angeles based sound mixer with extensive work IN production sound for cinema, television, streaming media and commercial for both Union and Non-Union productions.

My interest in audio recording began growing up in a suburb outside of Detroit, when I first discovered my dad’s old cassette tape recorder. My friends and I would record ourselves acting out radio shows, making goofy voices and verbalizing musical instruments. Also, being a young musician, those early recordings inspired me to attend the Recording Workshop, a music recording academy in Ohio. It’s there I learned the true art and beauty of analog recording on 2” tape and outboard equipment. It was also there that I found my true calling.

I went on to intern at a handful of recording studios in the Bay Area, while getting a degree in computer tech. I stoked my passion for recording, tech and music by recording bands (many of which I was the guitarist).

As my interest in recording grew, I left the tech world and moved to Los Angeles to pursue production audio and audio post-production full-time. Other than marrying my beautiful wife and having my son, pursuing a career in production sound and audio post is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Since then, I have worked on countless films, commercials and shows, and have continued to build on my audio production and post skills. My clients will attest that I have a strong work ethic, I take pride in producing quality work, I have an all-around positive attitude and I bring the knowledge and expertise to get the best sound in any situation.
